Squatch Hunter Alpha

Hunters vs. Sasquatch, played on real GPS.

A location-based capture-the-flag game for your phone. Hunters spread out across the real world, build campfires, and drop decoy fires to throw the Sasquatch off the trail while they track it down. The Sasquatch roars and races to burn every camp down before it's caught. Everyone's actual position is the entire game board.

About

Location Game Studios is a small studio with one obsession: games where your actual location is the controller. We build multiplayer experiences that send players outside, onto real sidewalks and real parks, using GPS instead of a joystick.

It started with a simple itch — an old capture-the-flag app, rebuilt from the ground up for the web. That project became Squatch Hunter Alpha, and it set the tone for how we work: iterate constantly, test in the field, and never ship a mechanic we haven't chased across an actual park ourselves.

Play outside

Every game is built to be played in real places, not simulated ones. The map is wherever you're standing.

Built in the open

We ship early, test with real players in real matches, and keep improving in public rather than waiting for perfect.

Small and sharp

A small team means every feature has to earn its place. No bloat, no filler modes — just the game, made better.

Where it started

An old idea, rebuilt properly

Years ago, that first version was a scrappy Android app: hunters placing campfires, a Sasquatch trying to burn them down, everyone chasing each other across a real neighborhood with a GPS dot as their only clue.

Location Game Studios exists to give that idea a real home — rebuilt as a proper web app, with live multiplayer, real-time positions, and all the small mechanics that make a chase across a park actually feel tense: decoy campfires, a roar that gives away your position, a countdown that only starts once everyone's really ready.
